Rotherham Leagues Fixtures meeting Wednesday 14th March 8pm AlbionRoad WMC.
Vets Fixture meeting Thursday 22nd March 1pm at Park Hotel.
What
an afternoon, blazing sun, nice breeze and a bit of drama.
Honours were shared with a win each from the first two pairs to give Dinnington
a 6 point lead but they didn't have a fourth pair which left Treeton's Mark
Gilbank and Graham Chambers needing just 7 points for the match against Dinnington's
Alan Durham and Alan Dickinson.
Everybody thought the two Alans would go straight for the corners but Dicko
chose a 26 yard round peg mark and they raced into a 14-0 lead. Mark and Graham
scored a two, the two Alans responded with a 2, Graham nudged the jack at the
next end to turn 2 down into 3 up for 16-5 and everybody's getting a bit twitchy.
Mark and Graham picked up a single for the draw then two Alans picked up a couple
of singles and everybody's thinking they're in with a chance but Mark and Graham
steal it with a three. The two Alans score 3 at the next end for a consolation
21-9 win but Treeton have won the match 62-59.
